Abstract
Laptop is one type of computer that is much in demand by the public, its price is increasingly affordable and has high mobility is the most powerful reason for people to have a laptop. For this reason, if the laptop is damaged, it will disrupt every activity that uses a laptop. The problem of this research is how to build an expert system for web-based laptop damage detection using the forward chaining method and certainty factor. This expert system aims to help detect and solve common problems that commonly occur on laptops. This expert system was created using certainty factor and forward chaining methods. The result of this research is a web-based expert system that can provide information about problems, causes, and solutions that can be done to deal with laptop damage. The expert system has been tested using the black box testing method and all components of the expert system can run well. After validation to the experts, this system gets a validity value of 100% and is declared eligible for use
