Abstract
Game is a medium that can apply artificial intelligence to a character. Therefore, in this study, we will implement the Finite State Machine in the 2-Dimensional How to Exit game based on Android. Finite State Machine is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) method that dominates in-game control and decision-making by non-player characters in the game. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to apply the Finite State Machine to generate behavior on enemy characters in the game How to Exit. The game design method uses the MDA Framework where the MDA Framework consists of mechanics, dynamics, and aesthetics. In building game applications with Unity tools and applying Finite State Machine to enemy characters which can interact with players, namely chasing players from a certain distance and returning to their original position according to three things, namely circumstances, events, and actions. Based on the results of the application testing carried out by the Finite State Machine, it can be applied and works well in the How to Exit game to produce behavior on enemy characters. Meanwhile, for the results of the tests carried out as many as 30 respondents achieved an average result of 83.14% with a very good assessment category.
