Abstract

The development of information technology has supported the development of various industries. One example of the application of technology in the field of sports. We can increase the efficiency of sports training by developing training systems that integrate information technology with other automated technologies. One of them is the automatic shooting score assessment that needs to be developed using visual-based technology. In the automatic scoring process, a camera calibration process is needed to obtain an optimal image. To obtain an optimal object image, there are several factors that can influence such as light intensity, the quality of the camera used, and others. The camera calibration process works to make the image to be processed more accurate by finding the value of the image parameter to be processed. The camera calibration process is carried out to find the intrinsic parameter values (focal length, principle point, distortion) and extrinsic parameters (rotation, translation) of the image of a calibration object and expressed in the image coordinate system which is then corresponded to the coordinates of the real object of the image. In this study, the image was taken using a webcam with 720p resolution and with an intensity in the range of 200 lx - 400 lx. From this study, the results obtained intrinsic parameters (focal length of 945.3258 +/- 4.7896 on the X axis and 944.5761 +/- 4.6890 on the Y axis, the principle point of 683.6701 +/- 2.1943 on the X axis and 340.2408 +/- 2.0223 on the Y axis, and distortion on the X axis is -0.4008 +/- 0.0066 and on the Y axis is 0.1850 +/- 0.0185), while for the results of extrinsic parameters the average error in the image is 0.61. And on the detection of the length of the radius on the target shooting image, the result is 7.
