Abstract
The title of the research that is currently done is "Chibi Augmented Reality Animal Character Using Low Poly Modeling as Learning Media". The background of making this application is the presence of learning media will make the learning process more interesting, for example in terms of appearance combined with several images or animation. For the learning model in Diponegoro 156 TK itself, referring to the 2013 curriculum guide. While the learning media is still conventional. Media learning in kindergarten is still conventional because of the lack of variety of teaching aids the school has, so that teachers can only deliver material with makeshift teaching aids. Students are only taught with poster pictures, and even then the number is limited. So that it cannot display images of animals to the fullest. For this reason, researchers made an animal learning application based on augmented reality, in which this application was designed attractively designed by combining multimedia elements including: images, text, and sound so that the learning application messages could be more easily understood and attract children's interest. This application aims to introduce various kinds of animals to children in order to distinguish between tame animals and wild animals. Data collection methods used are literature studies, observations, questionnaires and interviews. The system development method used is Multimedia Development Life Cyle (MDLC). In its creation using Unity 3D software. The results of this study are the application of augmented reality chibi animal characters as learning media.
