Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a public health problem which is a global challenge. Tuberculosis is an infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium Tuberculosis bacteria. Most of the tuberculosis germs attack the lungs but can also attack other organs. The disease is spread and transmitted through the air when people infected with pulmonary tuberculosis cough, sneeze, talk or spit. In Indonesia, pulmonary tuberculosis is a major public health problem. The number of tuberculosis cases in 2018 was found to be 566,623 cases, an increase compared to all tuberculosis cases found in 2017 which amounted to 446,732 cases. According to the health profile book of Banyumas Regency in 2018, in the Banyumas district area alone, patients with tuberculosis in 2018 reached 1622 cases. Expert system (Expert System) is a system that seeks to adopt human knowledge into computers so that computers can solve problems as is usually done by experts. In this study the authors used the forward chaining method. The author conducted a study with a sample of 100 communities in Banyumas Regency with the results of 68.25% of people in Banyumas Regency still did not understand tuberculosis. This research is expected to help the performance of tuberculosis specialist doctors in order to be able to conclude the symptoms experienced by patients is a tuberculosis disease, and can be used by the public to check and find out about tuberculosis.
