ANALISIS IMPLEMENTASI “DENUVO” TERHADAP PERSEPSI PEMAIN PADA KINERJA GAME

The Digital Rights Management (DRM) released by Denuvo has caused various controversies in the gaming world. In many internet forums such as Reddit, Rin, Discord, and gaming news media, DRM is often blamed as the main trigger for lag and stutter in games that affect the performance of players when playing games. Therefore, this study analyzes the effect of Denuvo on in-game rendering performances. The variables used for testing are variables that affect game performance such as CPU, GPU, HDD, RAM Usage, average frames per second, 1% low fps which players interpret as stutter or lag, and performance of 25 (twenty five) game player respondents. This test then compared with the player's perception. This research examines 7 (seven) games which at the time of release had Denuvo protection for comparison with cracked versions taken from Warez sites. The final result obtained is that Denuvo does indeed put an additional stress on the HDD load and some players feel lag and stutter in action games but player performance in games released by Warez and Denuvo only shows a difference of 3% where Warez releases conclude better player performance.
