VIRTUAL LOCAL AREA NETWORK (VLAN) UNTUK OPTIMALISASI KEAMANAN JARINGAN LOCAL AREA NETWORK DI UNIVERSITAS AMIKOM PURWOKERTO

Amikom Purwokerto University is an educational institution, which requires good network quality to support learning activities. The existing network configuration at Amikom Purwokerto University currently still has several obstacles, such as traffic on a dense computer network and will eventually slow down access to applications. In addition, the high broadcast traffic that causes a broadcast storm on the network that affects network performance. VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) is one solution that can be applied to overcome these problems. In the VLAN there is a VTP (VLAN Trunking Protocol) configuration that allows the use of bandwidth to be more efficient so that users get more optimal connections and internet services. This study uses the PPDIOO method which consists of several stages including prepare, plan, design, implement, operate and optimize. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in security and also the quality of the network where access to applications becomes faster.
