Abstract
The use of electricity is a major requirement in human life, whether in the household sector, lighting, communication, industry and so on. One of the dangers of using electricity is a fire hazard due to short circuit or often called a short circuit. A more reliable security system is needed in the use of large electricity to reduce the risk of fire. Based on the above problems, the author was compelled to make a system to control home lights remotely by using a smartphone that aims to control the house lights and minimize the occurrence of electrical short circuit that will cause house fires, as well as waste electricity because homeowners often forget to turn off the lights. This study uses library observation and methodology, system device requirements analysis, system pre-design on fritzing, home prototype design, application design for blynk, program making, system component assembly, home prototype making using acrylic, system testing, and conclusions. This tool will work to replace the manual switch used for turn on and turn off lights as they have been used so far. First, when the user presses the button on the Blynk application then the data will be sent to the Blynk server, then from the Blynk server it continues to Arduino Mega via Nodemcu Esp8266, after that Mega Arduino sends data to the relay, the relay serves to disconnect and connect the electricity, if the relay on, the light will turn on. On the contrary, if you press the back button, the light will turn off. Then to monitor the light in the on or off condition, the researcher adds an LCD display to the Blynk application. So this system will be to help and facilitate the people in the control house lights remotely by using a smartphone connected to the internet.
