Abstract
Vegetation index is used to describe the intensity of plants in an area in the image. The vegetation index is a mathematical combination between the red band and the NIR (Near-Infrared Radiation) band which has long been used as an indicator of the presence and condition of vegetation. Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) is a plant index that utilizes red and infrared light. Chlorophyll in leaves affects the reflection of infrared light, where healthy plants can reflect more infrared light than unhealthy plants which is one of the determining factors for identifying healthy plants or not. Therefore, in this study the algorithm used to determine the chlorophyll content is NDVI. Data and information collection methods used are observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the ornamental plant Spathiphyllum Wallisii Mauna Loa has an average vegetation index value of 0.33333 which indicates that the average health of this plant is in normal conditions.
