APLIKASI KOREKSI UJIAN ESSAY BERBASIS WEBSITE MENGGUNAKAN METODE RABIN KARP

Exams based on the type can be done in 3 forms, namely multiple choice exams, short entries, and essays. An exam with an essay system is given so that the teacher can know the understanding of the student about a science. Exams with this essay system are still done in writing and corrected manually, namely fill in the answers in writing and read the answers one by one, so that the teacher needs a long time to correct and recapitulate the value. Based on the problems above, the author provides a solution to create a website-based exam correction application using the rabin-karp method. This method has several advantages in its application, because it is suitable for long strings. By using k-gram parsing and hashing in determining the number of matches of the same text or sentence in the answer and answer key. Data collection methods used are observation, literature study, and interviews. The system development method used is Extreme Programming including planning, design, coding and testing. Researchers conducted tests at SMK Negeri 1 Purwokerto in 2 classes, namely X RPL 1 and X TKJ 2 with different subjects, namely basic programming and computers and basic networks. The results showed that the website-based essay correction application uses the rabin karp method of HTML, PHP, and Javascript programming with the help of Jquery and MYSQL. By carrying out the normality test using the Pearson Coefficient of Skewness method, it was concluded that the website-based essay correction application using the Rabin Karp method of data produced was normally distributed because the results of the trial data in both classes were ≥ -1.
