Abstract
Aglaonema grows well at an altitude of 300 - 400 meters above sea level and lighting more than 50% causes the leaves to burn and turn yellow. The ideal air temperature during the day is around 28 - 30°C and at night around 20 - 22°C. The humidity is around 50 - 60%. Humidity below 50% can cause the leaves to dry and wilt easily. Aglaonema is a plant that likes semi-wet soil conditions or sufficient humidity. This plant needs water for the development of its life. Healthy and quality plants are produced by regular watering and sufficient water content, neither too little nor too much water, so that plant moisture is maintained. However, nowadays many still do watering manually so it is often not controlled and takes a lot of time for the owner. To overcome these problems, a system that can automatically water plants is needed. This watering system was built using the NodeMCU ESP8266 microcontroller based on the Internet of Things. NodeMCU ESP8266 is used as the main controller. This system works based on the value of air humidity detected using the DHT11 sensor. This system is also equipped with a Soil Moisture sensor which functions to detect soil moisture. This watering system can be monitored and controlled remotely using the Telegram application. The results of this study the system can do watering automatically if the humidity is < 50% and automatically stops if the humidity > 60%.
