Abstract
Along with the rapid development of technology and communication, it is hoped that it can facilitate people in activities in all fields, including in agriculture. An expert system is one of the benefits of technological development, which is a computer application to solve problems such as the expertise of an expert in certain fields based on knowledge and facts so as to get a solution. This study aims to make it easier for farmers to diagnose pests that are attacking rice plants so that crop failure does not occur by creating a website-based pest diagnosis expert system application with the backward chaining method. This website-based expert system application makes it easier for farmers to find information about pests and how to overcome them. This expert system is made with the backward chaning method, where in this method first determines the pest then traces the symptoms so that it finds a pest that matches the symptoms given by the farmer in diagnosing.
