Abstract
Children with hearing impairment or deaf those are who suffer from a deficiency or hearing loss caused non-functioning part or some of the hearing aid so experiencing barriers of language development.Vocabulary controlled by deaf children to communicate greatly a little, in the first when the children enrolled in a child deaf school had not a vocabulary at all and when in the school the children started mastering a simple vocabulary slowly. Limitations of hearing makes the deaf children difficult to mastering the vocabulary. Therefore it takes other media that could develop of deaf children increase vocabulary such as videos, games, also animations and author makes interactive story book for the deaf children base on multimedia techniques onion skinning. The method used Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) which consists of six stages, that is conceptually, design, material collecting, assembly, testing, and distribution. The result of this research is interactive media a story book that expected to expand the vocabulary and increase reading interest of deaf children.
