Abstract

Flood often occurs in lowland areas. Pandak Village is one of the lowland area surrounded by many irrigation channels which can cause flooding any time. No a river water monitoring system and flood early warning system has resulted undetected flood. Therefore, this research is directed to create a flood monitoring and early warning system. This research title is Wireless Sensor Network Application in Irrigation Channels Using Laser Sensor and LoRa Gateway for Flood Early Warning and Monitoring. By this system, it is hoped that floods can be detected early and the community arround can mitigate floods. The focus of this application is a water level meter that can be connected to each other for easy monitoring. The output of this research is a prototype of a flood monitoring and early warning system. With VL53L0X sensor the system is able to measure the water level accurate, even though it can only read a distance of 1-120 cm. In addition, each sensor point can be connected using radio waves with a maximum distance of 250 meters. This is an advantage of this system, because it can be installed along rivers that are not covered by the internet. What distinguishes this research from previous research is that this flood detection system can detect water levels from many points at once without internet. This system can be used to monitor water levels and provide early warning of flooding. The use of a laser distance sensor is suitable for measuring the water level in irrigation channels that are not too deep. LoRa can be used to create a wireless sensor network.
