Abstract

Hand washing is one of the sanitation actions by cleaning hands and fingers using water or other liquids by humans with the aim of being clean. During the COVID-19 pandemic, washing hands with soap is also an effort to prevent the spread of the virus. However, many provide hand washing facilities but still manually, namely by opening the faucet valve and pressing the soap opener in its use. So we don't know whether the faucet valve and the soap opener are dirty or not. Therefore, the purpose of this research is to create an automatic water faucet and automatic soap system by utilizing technology, namely the use of ultrasonic sensors connected to relays and valves and water pumps. This research was built using the prototyping method. From the results of this study the creation of an automatic water faucet and automatic soap that runs according to the experiments that have been carried out, namely when the ultrasonic sensor reads the presence of a hand it will send data to the Arduino, then the Arduino through the relay commands the valve and the water pump to drain the water and soap. With this system, it is hoped that it will make it easier for us to wash our hands and make us realize how important it is to wash our hands with soap during the COVID-19 pandemic.
