Abstract

Scheduling is one of the important things in the success of an activity, one of which is teaching and learning activities. The scheduling of teaching and learning activities in SMP N 2 Kaligondang is a complex problem. In making the schedule so far there are still a number of problems including frequent schedule conflicts and requiring a long time to make. In making a schedule requires high accuracy because it considers several things such as teacher, time, space and subjects. Every semester the curriculum always keeps a schedule and takes 6 days. Therefore in this study aims to produce applications that can help the curriculum to maximize the preparation of the schedule of teaching and learning activities by applying genetic algorithms. Genetic Algorithms can be used as a solution to create an optimal schedule because it consists of several stages such as initialization, selection, crossover, mutation and evaluation. In collecting data, researchers used interview techniques, documentation and literature. The system development method used in this study is Rapid Application Development (RAD). In testing the application of generic algorithms successfully implemented and produce an optimal schedule, while in the process of generating the compilation carried out in each class because it produces the best fitness value. Parameters that can solve the problem are the value of 0.7 crossover, 0.5 mutation and a population of 100. With these parameters can produce a schedule with an average time of 50 minutes 15 seconds.
