Abstract
The process of drying rice is one of the most important processes during the rice harvest season. Until now the process of drying rice is still relying on solar heat, but there are obstacles in the process of drying rice because of unpredictable weather, especially coupled with climate change which is very uncertain at this time. To overcome the above problems, it is necessary to develop an automatic roofing system for drying rice. Therefore the researchers aimed to design and build an automatic roofing system for the Arduino Uno R3-based rice drying process. This research uses extreme programming as a system development method. This automatic roofing system uses Arduino Uno R3 as its microcontroller and uses several sensors as a weather detector. The work of this automatic roofing system is the roof will close when conditions are cloudy, rainy, and when the afternoon. The roof will open when the conditions are not raining, when the morning, and the weather is clear. The results of this study are that this automatic roofing system works well.
