Abstract

Indonesia has a lot of biodiversity and should be proud of. One of them is the diversity of freshwater ornamental fish species. One commodity of freshwater ornamental fish that exists and is still in demand today is koi fish (Cyprinus carpio). In order to maintain koi fish optimally, monitoring of water quality including temperature, pH and turbidity is needed. From 2012 until now, monitoring conducted by freshwater ornamental fish farmers still uses the five senses to monitor the development of freshwater ornamental fish. This does not allow farmers to improve the quality of freshwater ornamental fish pond water. With this problem, researchers want to create a system that can monitor water quality consisting of temperature, acidity, and turbidity by using the Arduino Mega 2560 as a microcontroller and adding NodeMCU 8266 so that users can monitor water quality remotely using Android. The purpose of making this system is to design and build a monitoring application of freshwater pond water quality using Android as a media for monitoring pond water quality that can be used to maintain the quality of ornamental fish pond water. The system development method used in this research is prototype. The test results of this system can monitor temperature, pH, and turbidity in real time remotely using Android.
