Abstract

At present time, almost all fields of human life have used technology. As a country that continues to follow technological developments, Indonesia is one of the users of various products in the field of communication and information. One of them is a smartphone that is now widely used by the people of Indonesia. Currently Android is proven to be the operating system most widely used by smartphone manufacturers. In the energy sector, technology is also developing. The Government of Indonesia conducted a household fuel conversion program starting in 2007 using liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) as a substitute for kerosene.. At present, Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) is one of the gases that is used as an energy source and is the most widely used by almost all Indonesian people. But with the passage of time and the number of gas users today, the quality of LPG gas cylinders tends to decline. This quality degradation can occur due to lack of supervision during the production process, especially in the quality control process, so the use of LPG is quite dangerous with the potential to cause an explosion to fire. The aim of this research is to design and build a prototype of a gas and fire leak detection system using Arduino. The method used in this research is prototype development method. The results of this study are tools that can detect LPG and fire using an arduino microcontroller that can be accessed remotely using an android smartphone.
