Abstract

The title of the research conducted at the moment is "Augmented Reality Chibi Animal Movement Character Using Low Poly Modeling as Learning Media". The background of making this application is the presence of learning media will make the learning process more interesting, for example in terms of appearance combined with several images or animations. For learning models in MNU Diponegoro 129 Kindergarten itself, referring to the 2013 curriculum guide. While the learning media are still conventional in nature. Learning media in kindergarten is still conventional because of the lack of variety of teaching aids that schools have, so that teachers can only convey material with modest teaching aids. Students are only taught with poster pictures, and even then the amount is limited. So it can not display images of animals to the fullest. For this reason, researchers make animal learning applications based on augmented reality, where the application is designed to be interesting, designed by combining elements of multimedia including: images, text, and sound so that the learning application messages can be more easily understood and interesting in children's interests. This application aims to introduce various animals to children in order to be able to distinguish between domestic animals and wild animals. Data collection methods used were literature study, observation, questionnaire and interview. The system development method used is Multimedia Development Life Style (MDLC). In the making use of Unity 3D software. The results of this study are in the form of augmented reality chibi animal characters as learning media.
