Abstract

The problem is based on the frequent occurrence of fires due to electrical short circuit, this is a result of the lack of understanding of the use of the community, the selection of electrical equipment that is correct and safe and the high number of houses that have the potential to burn due to electrical installations that have never been checked for eligibility. Electrical installation is a solution offered to the public by referring to the General Electrical Installation Requirements (PUIL 2011) for homes and the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) for installation equipment. To support this, new innovations in the form of learning media with Augmented Reality technology are needed that are able to visualize 3D shapes more clearly. So that the community will be more effective in receiving material. This research aims as a new innovation in creating public curiosity about the dangers of electrical short circuit based on Augmented Reality media as a learning medium. The method used is MDLC (Multimedia Development Life Cycle) which consists of six stages. Namely concept (conceptualization), design (design), material collecting (material collection), assembly (manufacture), testing (testing), and distribution (distribution). The results of the research on the questionnaire have a final average value of 84.8%, it shows that the Augmented Reality media can be a new innovation and is very well used as a learning medium in studying the dangers caused by electrical short circuit.
