Abstract

During this time, watering the plants is done manually. But humans do not have enough time to water the plants and do not know how much water the plants need. Appropriate water requirements are needed for the level of fertility of chili plants. Lack of attention to this factor can adversely affect the growth of chili plants. This study using the waterfall method, starting from an analysis, design, coding, testing and maintenance process. While this research has the aim to simplify and assist the care process of chili plants by making automatic watering plants. This system can operate based on soil moisture (wet or dry) and weather conditions with a soil moisture sensor. The results of this study are improving the quality of chili. By making this tool it is hoped that it will simplify the process of watering the chili plants automatically as well as a prototype of the automatic chili plant watering system using Arduino. Can water the plants when soil absorbs ≤ 78% and will stop when watering the plants when humidity reaches the limit of ≥ 94%. There is an ultrasonic sensor in detecting the availability of water in the reservoir.
