Abstract

Smart Trash Can is a trash can that can sort according to the type of waste, namely organic and inorganic. Smart Trash Can is an alternative that can be used for waste management to be more effective in order to increase efficiency and reduce waste as much as possible. The selection of garbage aims to sort out the types of waste, so that waste can be separated based on the type, both organic and inorganic waste can be processed. The sensor used in Smart Trash Can is proximity sensor, proximity sensor is divided into two, namely capacitive and inductive proximity then Ultrasonic Sensor. The results of the test in this automatic trash can maximum size that can be entered more or less 5cm x 10cm with a time of 3 seconds from the first entrance to the final garbage bin. The system development method used is the waterfall method. The results of this study are the prototype "Smart Trash Can Based on Arduino Uno R3". Test results show that all sensor components can work well.
