Abstract

The traditional musical instrument Central Java was created from generation to generation by the society in Central Java Province one of which is Gamelan. Gamelan is one of Indonesia's cultural richness in field of music, usually composed of several instruments such as the gong, kenong, bonang, flutes, etc. The gamelan itself has become a cultural heritage for the people of Indonesia whose position is almost replaced by modern music so it needs to be an effort to preserve the arts and culture. Creativity is the ability to be creation in accordance with what we have, whereas music creativity is the ability to develop the things we have with regard to music. With the development of information technology that has already penetrated in education can be implemented an development of the introduction of Gamelan using Augmented Realiy technology (AR) are implemented in smartphones Android. The use of AR technology can be used as a means of developing more attractive traditional musical instruments, so can cultivate interest and creativity in the use of traditional music instruments of Gamelan. AR technology will display the 3D form of Gamelan instruments are presented in a more real and interactive. The purpose of this research is to build applications that can hone the creativity in the use of instruments of Gamelan based on Android using Augmented Realitytechnology. This research uses the method development MDLC. The results of this research are made the application of creativity in the use of the Gamelan uses augmented reality on mobile devices using the marker in the form of posters that can display 3D object tools Gamelan as well as can be played.
