Abstract

The agricultural sector is one of the sectors that is at the center of attention in national builders, especially those relating to the management and utilization of strategic results, especially those concerning food commodities. Somagede Subdistrict is one of the Districts in Banyumas Regency with the majority of the population working as farmers. Mr. Sugianto is one of the owners of horticulture plants in Somagede. Horticulture is a type of plant that must maintain its moisture level. Mr. Sugianto has implemented a drip system to treat his plants, but there are some problems that he experienced. These problems include the type of soil in the area of Somagede is a type of clay which when dry will harden. Besides that the water source is too far away, so it takes a lot of time to fill up the water reservoirs owned, while he has limited labor. His busy activities that often go out of town are also a problem so he has difficulty monitoring and caring for his plants. The purpose of this study is to create a system of automatic watering of plants and automatic water storage. Besides that, it can be monitored remotely in real time. The system development method used is a prototyping system development method. The results of this study are the prototype of an automatic watering plant system using arduino based Internet of Things.
