Abstract

Garbage separator is a trash can that can sort waste based on its type, namely metal and non-metal. By utilizing a modern and automatic touch, it will make people interested in taking out the trash. The existence of new innovations with automation technology, can dispose of garbage without touching the trash can. The sensors used are Proximity sensors to separate metal and non-metal waste, ultrasonic sensors to detect approaching objects and servo motor sensors to open and close the trash can. The test results show that the ultrasonic sensor reads an approaching object with a distance of < 20 cm, the servo will rotate and the trash can cover will open. If garbage detects metal, the servo moves to the left, if to the right, it detects non-metallic garbage. The method used is the development of the waterfall method. The results of this study are "Design of Automatic Sorter Based on Arduino Uno Microcontroller". The test results show that all sensor components can work well.
