Abstract

Educational institutions have a lot of data but have not been optimally utilized. School-owned data is usually large and growing every year. By utilizing data mining method the data can be processed into a useful information, especially for SMP Negeri 1 Wangon which still often occur student seizure among teacher of mapel with one another in student election to represent school follow race. The method used in this research is problem identification, data collection, pre-processing stage, decision tree making, validation and evaluation as well as implementation of results into the application. Algorima used in this research is algorithm C4.5 by using dataset of class VII report value of students of SMP Negeri 1 Wangon. The purpose of this research is to implement C4.5 algorithm to classify student achievement which is expected to produce rule pattern to classify student achievement so that it can be used as new information or reference for school in student monitoring which have potential achievement that can be excavated to be superior again and election students to join the school contest. This research successfully implemented C4.5 algorithm into a desktop-based application. The application can know the classification patterns of student achievement class VII SMP Negeri 1 Wangon. From the results of calculations that have been done, obtained an accuracy of 86,33%.
