Abstract

Gumelar District is one of the areas with the most Etawa Crossbred Goat (PE) breeders in Banyumas Regency. Even the cultivation of PE goats is well known to people outside the Banyumas Regency. The development of PE goats is done in the form of groups, namely the Goat Farmers Group (KTT). The PE goat farmer group in Gumelar Subdistrict has problems related to the process of selecting the PE goat seedlings carried out by breeders still using the manual method, namely by visual means the results are not objective. The selection process is also carried out by collecting prospective seedlings based on the genealogical goat breeds that should be recorded in the PE goat recording book to determine the livestock to be used as seedlings. To overcome these problems, a Quality Goat Seed Selection Decision Support System can be built using the TOPSIS (Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) Method. This application has data management features of prospective goat seedlings, decision making systems. The results of this system are reports on the results of PE goat seed selection. This desktop-based application can help breeders in deciding goat seedlings of good or bad quality, to be breeders and males so that the next generation is better. With this application, the decision making for the selection of PE goat seeds can be done easily. The method used in the SPK is TOPSIS because it is based on a simple concept and is used to assess and rank. This desktop based application is highly recommended because it can be said to be feasible and ready to be implemented in assisting the selection process because the system is safe from system bug errors.
