Abstract

This research was conducted at Telkom Schools Purwokerto. From the results of the initial study in the introduction of each material, especially in the Department of Access Network Engineering (TJA), it still uses structures in the form of images of symbols. Each symbol represents each device used. This shows the fact that the learning media in Purwokerto's Telkom Schools are still less varied so there is a need for interactive learning media to facilitate students in learning. This study aims to simulate the 3D telecommunication network as an interactive learning media at Purwokerto Telkom Schools. This study uses a development plan. The method used is using the Multimedia Development Life Cycle (MDLC) method which consists of six stages, namely Concept (design), Design (design), Material Collecting (material collection), Assembly (manufacture), Testing (testing) and Distribution (distribution ) The initial data is taken from the results of interviews with teachers, notes on the results of observations, and notes on the results of literature studies. The results of the research are telecommunications network simulation applications. Based on the results of testing this learning media, the results are 90% and it can be concluded that this application can be applied to telecommunication system subjects based on existing basic competencies. This application can simplify and improve the learning process in class X students in Telkom Schools to be even better. Based on the results of the study, it is recommended for the X grade teacher in the TJA department to use this application in the learning process of Telkom Schools students in introducing new material and in introducing telecommunications networks to students in new material.
