Abstract

Conventional drying with sunlight is generally still applied by Indonesian farmers. Although this method is widely used, but during the rainy season often encounters obstacles due to erratic weather, thus the grain can’t dry out and will cause damage. Along with the development of technology, especially in terms of drying can be a solution to replace the current conventional drying. By utilizing increasingly advanced technology, mechanical drying is a possible alternative to run. Then a prototype of grain dryer using internet of things based on Arduino Mega as the initial stage of implementation in the real world of mechanical grain dryer. This system is useful for drying grain automatically so it does not depend on the weather and grain quality is not reduce. This research uses the observation method to observe the surrounding events and literature study from previous research as a reference. So that it can produce a prototype of grain grain handling tool using internet of things based on Arduino Mega. In this study it can be concluded that the utilization of mechanical energy technology can be used to replace conventional drying today.
